Over a year ago, talk of Coca-Cola with Coffee first began circulating. The time has finally come to crack open a can for yourself to get the soda-coffee combination that is sure to be a caffeine boost like no other.

Coca-Cola with Coffee has made its official debut today, Jan. 25. The beverage is in what’s called the “refreshment coffee” category and “sips like a Coke and finishes like a coffee.” It comes in three flavors, Dark Blend, Vanilla, and Caramel. The Dark Blend and Vanilla also come in zero-sugar versions. All of the flavors come in 12-ounce cans with 69 milligrams of caffeine.

Although this is a new drink in the United States, it’s actually the 50th market to launch Coca-Cola with Coffee. It was piloted in Japan in 2018, and each country afterwards, including the U.S., has tailored the recipe and packaging to fit local tastes.

“Coca-Cola with Coffee is a true hybrid innovation that provides the perfect solution for that mid-afternoon pick-me-up we all want, especially in today’s work-from-home environment. We’re fulfilling this need state and occasion in a uniquely Coca-Cola way,” Brandan Strickland, brand director, Coca-Cola Trademark, said in a press release.

You can find the cans at Walmart for around $2 each. Is it time for that afternoon pick-me-up yet?

It’s been over 6 months since we heard about Coca-Cola with Coffee might be a real thing, but now it’s confirmed. Coca-Cola is officially releasing a new drink that is infused with coffee flavor, a PR rep confirmed to Best Products.

You will be able to get Coca-Cola with Coffee beginning in January 2021. It will come in three signature flavors: Dark Blend, Vanilla, and Caramel. Each can has 70 calories and includes 69 milligrams of caffeine (a typical 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola has 34 milligrams), so you’ll certainly get a kick from the beverage.

The Coca-Cola with Coffee Dark Blend and Vanilla will be available in 12-ounce singles and 12-ounce four-packs. However, the Coca-Cola with Coffee Caramel will only be offered in 12-ounce single cans. This just might be the perfect drink for those afternoon pick-me-ups.

Coca-Cola is making it socially acceptable to crack open a can of soda first thing in the morning. The brand is launching a line of soda with coffee drinks, according to Instagram account @candyhunting.

As indicated in the picture, the soda-coffee hybrid canned beverage is expected to come in Dark Blend, Vanilla, and Caramel flavors. The 12-ounce cans pack in 70 calories and (hopefully) a real kick of caffeine.

This isn’t the first time Coca-Cola has gone the coffee route. Coca-Cola BlāK, a coffee-flavored soda, debuted in 2006 and it was pulled from shelves 2 years later. Nancy Quan, chief technical officer at Coca-Cola, told CNN Business that it was poor timing, with it being a trend before its time. Similar products have hit international markets over the past few years, so it looks like the company is taking another stab at it with Coca-Cola with Coffee in the United States.

The Coca-Cola with Coffee news comes off the heels of Pepsi announcing the launch of Pepsi Café, which is also slated to hit shelves in April 2020. However, it only comes in regular and vanilla flavors, so Coca-Cola might have a leg up with caramel lovers.

Pepsi is sweeter than Coke, so it’ll be interesting to see if either brand alters the sugar profile to work with the coffee. We sense a taste test coming!
